Staying healthy through forgiveness

Bitterness, strife, and confusion all work together. strife breeds confusion; confusion breeds bitterness. Bitterness can hinder your prayer life. It can defile you. (Heb. 12:15). Bitterness is contagious. Esau became bitter when his brother, Jacob, stole his blessing (Gen. 27). His bitterness caused a family curse on his future generations. Unforgiveness causes bitterness. It will affect your thinking, strength, anointing, health, and the direction of your life. It creates a chemical imbalance and disease in your bones.(Prov. 15:30;17:22). When you harbor unforgiveness in your heart, you give place to the devil to wreak havoc in your life by causing you to focus on the person who committed the offense. Forgiveness causes you to focus on Jesus and releases you and the person who has offended you. It frees God to bring about a change in both of you. There are four steps to forgiving: 1. Understand the devil is responsible for the offense. 2. Separate the person from the sin. 3. Make the decision to forgive whoever has offended you 4. Bless those who have offended you according to Luke 6:27,28. Remember, "a merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones". Prov. 17:22
